Where It All Began
The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Their vision was simple: serve the finest pancakes and breakfast dishes made entirely from scratch, using only the freshest ingredients. That commitment to quality set the foundation for everything that followed.

The Secret Is in the Scratch
Every batter, every sauce, every topping is made fresh in our kitchen — never from a mix, never from a box. Our signature recipes have been perfected over decades and passed down with care. From the iconic Apple Pancake to the Dutch Baby, each dish tells a story of craftsmanship and love.
Coming to Maryland
The Original Pancake House grew from a single location into a beloved national franchise, and Maryland became home to some of its most cherished outposts. Our Baltimore, White Marsh, and Annapolis locations have each built their own loyal communities — neighbors, families, and regulars who have made Sunday breakfast here a lifelong tradition.
